  • Principal

    Abundant Life School is seeking a qualified, and accomplished professional to serve in the principal capacity beginning July 1, 2018. This position includes areas of teacher observation and evaluation, student life and discipline, as well as many other administrative duties.

    Qualifications:

    • Be a born again Christian who regularly attends church and desires to speak the gospel into the hearts and minds of young people
    • Support the mission and beliefs statement of Abundant Life School
    • Master's Degree in Education or Educational Administration
    • Teaching and Administrative experience
    • ACSI Principal Certification desired
  • Academic Advisor/Guidance Counselor

    Position Purpose
    Responsible for helping students reach their academic, social and emotional goals using their unique God given gifts. Provide educational and college guidance assistance for students by planning schedules, recommending courses and recommending appropriate educational solutions for different types of students, helps prepare students for the college admissions process, and encourages all students to maximize personal growth and development.

    Essential Functions
    • Collaborates with parents and teachers to assist students with academic, emotional and social success.
    • Provides individual counseling to students with identified concerns and needs.
    • Assists in college advising.
    • Coaches students and parents, individually and in groups, regarding course selection in accordance to selected diploma plan.
    • Assists students, individually or in groups, with developing, academic, and personal/social skills, goals, and plans, help students set goals that will guide them in discovering the direction for their future.
    • Monitors students’ academics throughout the year and counsels/encourages students for success in all classes.
    • Collaborates with parents and teachers to assist students with educational goals.
    • Responsible for coordinating, administering, and proctoring the various in-school standardized tests such as PSAT, Pre-ACT, and other standardized tests as required by the school.
    • Assists with parent meetings regarding financial aid and scholarships for college.
    • Assists with parent meetings regarding the college admission process.
    • Assists with student meetings throughout the school year regarding resumes, essays, letters of recommendation, and the college admissions process.
    • Assists in the planning, developing, and execution of the Tour of Colleges.
    • Writes letters of recommendation for senior students when applying to college.
    • Attends local college informational meetings throughout the school year.
    • Attends local ACT and SAT informational meetings.
    • Creates 4-year plans for students.
    • Assists students with the scheduling process and schedule changes.
    • Consults and collaborates effectively with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and other educational/community resources regarding students with identified concerns or needs
    • Monitors the progress of students’ grades on a quarterly basis.
    • Encourages students to strive for academic success.
    • Teaches students how to be responsible and self-sufficient in reaching academic and personal goals.
    • Responsible for setup and maintenance of student database and computer records.
    • Contributes positively to employee morale; maintains a positive pleasant demeanor to all constituencies; provides positive encouragement to students.
    • Creates and administers workshops to students and parents.
    • Represents the school at relevant state and national conference and workshops; interacts with college representatives during on-campus visits and at college fair.
    • Interpret tests and other appraisal results appropriately.
    • Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.

     

                                                                                                                                             

    Requirements

    Qualifications
    • Prefer Master’s degree or post graduate work in subject matter and/or counseling.
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Minimum of three years teaching and counseling experience in an independent school environment
    • Prefer previous experience in private/Christian school setting
    • Prefer prior knowledge of special education and learning differences
    • Excellent interpersonal and written communications
    • High level of integrity and confidentiality
    • Knowledge or experience in project management
    • Proficient computer skills and ability/willingness to learn Abundant Life’s specific computer systems
    • Independent and highly motivated
    • Analytical skills with high level of accuracy
    • Detail oriented
    • Ability to deal with difficult and often confidential matters
    • Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills

  • owl care supervisor

    Abundant Life School is seeking a qualified, energetic, personable person to direct our "Owl Care" program. The program includes before school care and after school care for students grades 4k through 6th.

    Qualifications:

    • Be a born again Christian, who regularly attends church, and desires to speak the gospel into the hearts and minds of young people
    • Support the mission and beliefs statement of Abundant Life School
    • Be able to supervise before the school day begins and after dismissal into evening
    • Be able to lead and direct workers
